Anthony V. McCrary Sr

Anthony V. McCrary Sr. is a native of Dallas, Texas.   He is the second of five children to the late Pastor and Mrs. James McCrary Sr.  Born and raised a “preacher’s kid”, his spiritual upbringing and deep Pentecostal roots in the Church of God in Christ established a firm foundation for his spiritual journey. He has been proclaiming the gospel with the anointing that transforms lives and empowers the believer to walk in their God given dominion and authority. His primary mission is to fulfill the call of God on his life, which is to proclaim the uncompromising word of God.  This commitment is not only evident as he delivers God’s word but, is demonstrated in his role as husband to the lovely Lady Loretta, loving father to his two adult sons, Anthony II, Marcus , daughter, Allyson and proud grandfather of three granddaughters, Aryona, Kaylyn and Amiaya.

He was ordained in April 1993 by Bishop J. Neaul Haynes of Texas Northeast First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction.  He was appointed the Assistant Pastor of El-Bethel Church of God in Christ in March 1995.  He became the Senior Pastor of El-Bethel in April 2000.  A man of vision, purpose and prayer, Supt. McCrary desired to build the Lord a new edifice located at 517 Helen Street in the City of Garland, Texas.

In December 2007, He was appointed the Assistant Superintendent to the Greenville North District by Bishop J. Neaul Haynes.  He worked faithfully with Supt .J.E. Ellis while giving all the glory and honor to God for the path charted for him.  In 2012, he was elevated to Superintendent of the Greenville North District.

After the demise of Bishop J. Neaul Haynes in March 2015, Bishop Charles E. Blake appointed Superintendent James E. Hornsby as the Bishop of the Texas Northeast First Jurisdiction.  Under this new leadership, Superintendent McCrary was chosen to serve as the State President of the Evangelist Department.

He is supported in ministry by his wife of more than 35 years.
